The scooters were intercepted in Martigny and Zermatt. The first, which belonged to a 24-year-old Ukrainian national, reached a speed of 113 km/h. The second, owned by a 42-year-old Ukrainian national, was confiscated. The second, owned by a 42-year-old Lithuanian, reached speeds of up to 126 km/h, as the cantonal police reported on Friday.

The scooter driver was stopped in Martigny as part of a fixed traffic check on April 5. As the scooter obviously did not meet the legal technical requirements, it was tested on a measuring roller.

In Zermatt, the regional police carried out a similar check on the cantonal road five days later. The case was handed over to the cantonal police

The police reminded everyone that the maximum speed limit for electric scooters is 20 km/h. Their riders must observe the same rules as light motorcycles and, in particular, wear a helmet.
