Trade President of the Swiss Confederation and delegation land in Bern after US trip
President Karin Keller-Sutter and Economics Minister Guy Parmelin returned to Bern on Thursday morning after their trip to the USA. The Federal Council jet landed at Bern-Belp Airport at 7.22 am.

No result of the last-minute talks between the Swiss delegation and US representatives was available at that time. As the Federal Council had previously announced on Platform X, it will hold an extraordinary meeting in the early afternoon following the delegation's return from the USA. Information will follow afterwards.
Keller-Sutter and Economics Minister Parmelin traveled to Washington at short notice on Tuesday evening in order to make a new offer to the representatives of the US government and avert the threat of US tariffs at the last minute. The tariffs of 39 percent came into force on Thursday.
