The price supervisor processed over 800 dossiers last year - a new record. Among other things, he was able to reduce costs for the general public by CHF 120 million for Swiss Post and public transport.

Thanks to his recommendations, he was able to reduce the planned price increases in public transport by CHF 50 million and those at Swiss Post by CHF 70 million, the price watchdog announced on Monday at the presentation of the annual report.

He also highlighted the adjustment of sales margins for medicines and the correction recommendations for the electricity grid usage fee. The latter will lead to price reductions of over CHF 120 million in 2026. In total, the price watchdog agreed nine consensual solutions last year and made 384 recommendations.

This year, he intends to take a closer look at the pricing models of internet platforms due to their economic importance and numerous complaints, and will keep the big bank UBS in his sights.
