The investigation into involuntary manslaughter and involuntary bodily harm is continuing and the arrested bus driver is being treated in hospital, the authorities said this morning. The identification of the three fatalities is ongoing.
Bus not on duty at the time of the accident
A double-decker bus crashed into a bus stop near the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in the north of the Swedish capital on Friday afternoon. Three people were killed and three others were injured and taken to hospital. The bus was not in service at the time of the accident, so there were no passengers on board.
It is still unclear how the serious accident could have happened. It happened on a busy road, close to a metro station and a train stop with connections to the northern suburbs of Stockholm. Many Swedes were on their way to the weekend at the time.
