Patrick Clivaz, the municipal councillor responsible for security in Crans-Montana, appeared in Sion on Monday morning for a hearing in connection with the fire disaster in the "Le Constellation" bar. The politician answered questions from the public prosecutor's office.

Clivaz has been in office since January 2025. He was not yet a member of the municipal executive at the time of the fire safety inspections at the "Le Constellation" bar in 2018 and 2019.

However, the prosecutors wanted to clarify why the public establishment continued not to be inspected after he took office. Clivaz is the tenth accused person to be questioned by the public prosecutor's office.

While the hearing of the mayor of Crans-Montana, Nicolas Féraud, on April 13 attracted more than 30 members of the media, there was much less interest in his council colleague. A photographer from the Keystone-SDA news agency counted only around ten journalists on site.
