Regional trains and regional buses have become more punctual and cleaner. This is shown by the latest federal government report on the quality of regional passenger transport in 2025.

More than 95 percent of regional trains and 90 percent of buses were on time on average across the country, i.e. less than three minutes late. This is what the Federal Office of Transport (FOT) writes in its report. Compared to the previous year, punctuality has increased in all categories of regional routes.

Cleanliness was still rated the worst in the surveys. However, test customers stated that cleanliness had improved continuously and significantly over the past three years, especially at stops, the FOT wrote.

In 2025, the information provided to passengers in the vehicles was rated worse than in previous years. The general improvement in the results suggests that transport companies are paying increasing attention to quality, the FOT wrote.
