Fire, fire Residential building in the old town of Pruntrut JU destroyed by fire
A multi-storey residential building was destroyed in a major fire in the old town of Pruntrut JU on Friday lunchtime. No one was injured. The cause of the fire was initially unknown.

The fire broke out at around 12.30 p.m., according to the Jura cantonal police on Saturday. The fire department was able to prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring buildings and brought the fire under control after around two hours. The fire department remained on site throughout the night and on Saturday morning to secure the building and prevent the fire from flaring up again.
The occupants of the house were looked after by the authorities and, with the help of homeowners, solutions were sought to provide them with alternative accommodation. No information was initially available on the amount of damage caused. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
