Nestlé currently has a market capitalization of around 230 billion Swiss francs. In the case of the pharmaceutical company Roche, the holders and profit participation certificates together add up to 232 billion. This is due not least to the contrasting share price performance since mid-June. While Nestlé shares have been on a steady downward trend since then, Roche shares have experienced a real renaissance.
Nestlé shares have experienced a strong setback, especially with the presentation of figures on Thursday (yesterday). At 87.56 francs, they now cost as little as they did at the beginning of 2019.
Roche Bons, on the other hand - the larger and more liquid of the two Roche classes - have been unstoppable since their low in mid-May. After a weak phase in the first half of the year, everything seems to be back to normal for investors.
Meanwhile, heavyweight number three on the Swiss stock exchange, the second Basel-based pharmaceutical group Novartis, with a market capitalization of CHF 213 billion, is still within sight of the two.
