The Roche Genentech Innovation Center Boston will further strengthen the long-standing partnership between the divisions in areas such as disease biology, engineering as well as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The Roche Genentech Innovation Center Boston will serve as a hub for Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism (CVRM), according to a press release issued on Friday. It will also support Roche and Genentech's efforts in AI and data science to accelerate drug discovery and development.

The labs will be equipped for cutting-edge research, and over time the center could employ up to 500 people. Manu Chakravarthy, SVP and Global Head of CVRM Product Development, will lead the center.
