The Aargau authorities must examine whether a request for therapy clarification from the Rupperswil quadruple murderer can be approved. The public prosecutor's office lodged an unsuccessful appeal against this with the Federal Supreme Court.

In September, the Aargau Administrative Court partially upheld an appeal by the convicted man. It referred the case back to the Office of Corrections. This should continue the clarification for therapy by the psychiatric-psychological service (PPD) of the canton of Zurich or the entry into the initial therapeutic clarification for such therapy.

As this ruling is not a final decision that concludes the matter at cantonal level, the Federal Supreme Court did not accept the appeal lodged by the public prosecutor's office. The latter argued that an exceptional provision applied, as a federal court ruling would save a lot of time and effort. However, according to the Federal Supreme Court, the conditions for dealing with the appeal have not been met.
