According to official information, the flight recorders were found at the crash site of a passenger plane in eastern Russia. "They will soon be brought to Moscow for deciphering," the Russian Ministry of Transport announced. The flight recorders should give the investigators clues as to the cause of the crash. All 48 passengers died in the accident in the taiga on Thursday. Initially, Governor Vasily Orlov had written of 49 occupants on board.

The An-24 passenger plane had crashed on approach on its way from Khabarovsk via Blagoveshchensk to Tynda in the Amur region. The airline Angara is being investigated on suspicion of violating safety regulations.
