Telecommunications Samsung achieves strong profit growth in the third quarter

Samsung Electronics has impressed the markets with its latest business figures. The South Korean electronics giant achieved an operating profit of 12.2 trillion won in the third quarter.

This is the equivalent of around 7.3 billion euros. Compared to the same period last year, this represents an increase in profit of almost 33 percent. The background to the strong figures is Samsung's robust chip sales, which have recovered strongly in recent months. The company expects demand for semiconductors to continue due to high investments in the field of artificial intelligence, according to a company statement. Samsung Electronics shares rose by more than four percent at times in response to the business figures.
