Photos on social media also showed completely burnt-out vehicles. The fire broke out at 4.30 a.m. and the flames were extinguished during the course of the day.

Arson not ruled out

The showroom building, where some Teslas were parked, was also damaged, as the fire department also reported. The cause of the fire is still unclear. The investigation is ongoing.

According to the Italian news agency Ansa, investigations are currently being carried out in all directions. Arson cannot be ruled out.

Recently, vehicles of the brand have been repeatedly set on fire in various locations in the USA in protest against Tesla founder Elon Musk and his role as the top austerity commissioner in US President Donald Trump's administration. Four Teslas were also set on fire in Berlin a week ago. Other attacks were also directed at dealerships and charging stations for Tesla e-cars.
