The Chairman of the Swiss National Bank (SNB), Martin Schlegel, earned slightly more in 2025. His total remuneration, including employer contributions to the AHV and pension fund, amounted to CHF 1.295 million and was therefore slightly higher than in the previous year.

Within the Executive Board, however, Schlegel received less than his deputy. Vice Chairman Antoine Martin received total remuneration of CHF 1.334 million, which is around CHF 40,000 more, according to the annual report published on Tuesday.

The difference is due to higher employer contributions to the pension fund and AHV for the Vice-Chairman. In terms of basic salary and other compensation, the two were on a par at CHF 1.017 million each. The basic salary rose by CHF 15,500.

In addition, Schlegel received around CHF 79,000 in compensation for a mandate on the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), which is not included in the reported SNB salary. Including this compensation, Schlegel was once again ahead of his deputy.
