The festival on the edge of the city park has been a fixed item on the St. Gallen summer events calendar since 2005. The latest edition begins on July 2 and starts in the first week with Bénin International Music from the Afrofusion section and the German indie pop band Fortuna Ehrenfeld, among others. The last performance on July 20 will be by Frenchwoman Irène Drésel with her hypnotic techno sound.
Among the better-known acts on the line-up are the St. Gallen-based Velvet Two Stripes, the Dutch band Yin Yin and the Bernese hip-hoppers Chlyklass, who have been on stage for 25 years. La Delio Valdez from Argentina, a 15-piece orchestra, will be performing in the courtyard of the Kulturmuseum on July 10. Their musical style is described as a "fusion of cumbia, Andean music, ska and reggae".
