Train manufacturer Stadler receives order for hydrogen trains from Italy

The rail specialist Stadler Rail has received an order from Italy. Stadler will build two hydrogen-powered narrow-gauge trains for the Sicilian railroad company Ferrovia Circumetnea (FCE).

This is the first order for the manufacture and delivery of customized hydrogen-powered trains for narrow-gauge railways, Stadler announced on Thursday. The contract was signed last week at the Expo Ferroviaria in Milan.

According to the information provided, it includes an option for the delivery of 13 further vehicles of the same type. The contract also includes the service for the first two trains for five years as well as the technical replacement material.
