The airline Swiss wants to work even more closely with Helvetic Airways in order to increase its flight capacities. To this end, the two airlines are extending their partnership for a further five years.

Helvetic Airways will operate up to 15 of its own aircraft on Swiss' entire European route network as part of a so-called "wet lease" agreement, according to a press release issued on Tuesday. The aircraft will be leased together with their crews.

The increased cooperation will enable Swiss to cover operating peaks. In addition, Helvetic's smaller aircraft will make it possible to fly to destinations that would not be accessible to Swiss' larger aircraft. Helvetic Airways' aircraft are reportedly the Embraer E190-E2 and E195-E2 as well as their predecessor models, the Embraer E190 and E195.

Helvetic will initially deploy up to nine aircraft for the upcoming winter flight schedule. Up to 15 aircraft are then planned for the 2025 summer timetable.
