Tourism Swiss hotel industry with more overnight stays in February too
The Swiss hotel industry recorded more overnight stays in February than in the same month last year. The positive trend from the previous year thus continued in the second month of 2026.

The number of overnight stays rose by 2.1% in February, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) on Monday based on an initial estimate. There was an increase of 2.1% for both foreign guests and domestic tourists.
This means that demand remains at a high level. In 2025, the Swiss hotel industry reached a new high with 43.7 million overnight stays. In January, overnight stays had already risen by a further 2.6% compared to the same month in the previous year.
The FSO will publish the absolute figures for overnight stays in February on April 7.
