Tourism Swiss parahotel industry with significantly more guests in the third quarter
The Swiss parahotel industry recorded a clear increase in the number of guests in the third quarter. Almost 60 percent of visitors to vacation apartments, collective accommodation and campsites came from Switzerland.

The parahotel industry registered a total of 7.6 million overnight stays from July to September, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) on Monday. This is 4.1 percent more than in the same period last year. Swiss guests accounted for 4.6 million overnight stays and thus around 60 percent of total demand.
Campsites in the lead
Campsites accounted for the largest share: With 3.25 million overnight stays, they were responsible for just under 43 percent of all overnight stays generated in the para-hotel industry. Domestic guests accounted for more than half of the overnight stays.
A total of 2.2 million guests stayed in commercially managed vacation apartments. Collective accommodation, such as youth hostels or SAC huts, recorded 2.1 million overnight stays in the third quarter, of which the vast majority (1.7 million) were again booked by Swiss guests.
