Swiss universities enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide when it comes to the employability of their graduates. This is confirmed by the Global Employability University Ranking and Survey 2025, which was recently published.

The ranking, which rates universities according to the employability of their graduates, places seven Swiss universities in the top 250 worldwide. This puts Switzerland in tenth place in an international comparison, as reported by Times Higher Education magazine.

ETH Zurich stands out among the Swiss universities, taking 17th place, followed by EPFL Lausanne in 27th place. The universities of Zurich, Bern, Lausanne, Basel and Geneva are also represented in the top 250, with rankings between 73 and 188.

These results reflect the consistently high quality of Swiss higher education, as the number of universities represented remains unchanged from the previous year. In total, over 40 countries and regions are represented in the ranking, underlining the global reach of the ranking.

At the top of the ranking is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), while US and UK universities occupy ten of the top twenty places. In addition to Switzerland, Germany, Japan, Singapore, China, Canada, Spain and France are also represented in the top 20.

A notable trend is the increasing presence of Asian universities, which now occupy 52 of the top 250 places. This indicates an increased global orientation of universities preparing their students for the international job market.

The results are based on around 130,000 votes from over 13,000 executives from 33 countries that were included in the assessment.
