Compared to the previous year, passenger frequency rose by 4 percent or 2.2 million air travelers, as the Federal Statistical Office announced on Thursday. This also exceeded the figures before the slump during the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the statistics, the busiest airport was Zurich with 32.5 million passengers. It was followed by Geneva with 17.7 and Basel-Mulhouse with 9.6 passengers.

The number of flight movements also increased, namely by 3 percent to 450,773, although this figure is still 4 percent below that of the pre-coronavirus year 2019.

The statistics show a slight decline in freight transportation. The number of tons transported in 2025 fell by 0.4% compared to the previous year.
