Average per capita wealth in Switzerland continued to rise in 2024. Switzerland thus remains the richest country in the world in the UBS Global Wealth Report. It is followed in second place by the USA, where wealth has risen even more sharply.

According to the report published by the major bank on Wednesday, every adult in this country owns the equivalent of around 687,000 dollars on average. UBS defines wealth as the sum of all financial assets and tangible assets such as real estate owned by private individuals minus their debts. The assets of private pension funds were also included.
The median value for Switzerland, on the other hand, is significantly lower. One in two adults in Switzerland owns more than CHF 182,250. The other half, however, own less. This puts Switzerland in 13th place among the countries with the least evenly distributed wealth.
The greatest inequality in wealth distribution was found in Brazil, Russia and South Africa. The USA and Germany follow in seventh and twelfth place respectively.
