Between Wetzikon and Uster 18-year-old crashes his car into a tanker truck - five people injured

Shortly after 7:30 a.m., there was a collision involving several vehicles, including a tanker truck, as confirmed by the Zurich cantonal police blue News.

The Zurichstrasse - Hinwil stretch between Uster-Ost and Wetzikon is closed in both directions. Traffic is being diverted.

Five people are slightly to moderately injured, according to Kapo blue News. They were taken to the surrounding hospitals.

According to initial police findings, the accident occurred when an 18-year-old driver coming from Wetzikon crossed into the other lane with his car and collided with the tanker truck. The tanker also crossed into the other lane, according to the police.
