A 20-year-old man skidded in his car in Alvaneu village on Monday evening, crashed into a rock face and ended up on his roof. He initially appeared to be trapped in the vehicle, but was eventually able to free himself and left hospital the same evening.

The accident happened shortly after 8 p.m. on the Landwasserstrasse in the direction of Surava, according to the cantonal police of Graubünden. Third parties reported to the police that the 20-year-old was trapped in the vehicle. However, he freed himself before the fire department arrived.

A rescue team finally took him to hospital in Thusis, where he left the same evening. The police are now investigating the exact cause of the accident.
