A 25-year-old man has died in a serious car accident in the Vaud municipality of Champvent. For reasons as yet unexplained, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed head-on into a tree.

The accident occurred at around 0.10 a.m. on Sunday night, according to a statement from the Vaud cantonal police. The driver, a Swiss national resident in the canton of Vaud, died at the scene of the accident.

The exact circumstances are under investigation.
