Between Friday evening and Saturday morning, the St. Gallen cantonal police pulled seven car and motorcycle drivers off the road. In Rapperswil-Jona early on Saturday morning, a 28-year-old motorcyclist was caught driving while unfit, without a driver's license, without a license plate and without a helmet.

In addition, the motorcyclist was carrying a third person and the motorcycle was uninsured and not in the prescribed condition, the cantonal police announced on Saturday. A blood and urine sample was ordered from the driver and the motorcycle was seized.

Previously, the police in Oberbüren had caught a 60-year-old driver without a valid driver's license, in Sargans a female driver was caught with 0.5 mg/l breath alcohol (around 1 per mille blood alcohol) and in Rebstein a 62-year-old man with 0.99 mg/l breath alcohol (1.98 per mille) had his driver's license confiscated.

In Grabs, a 32-year-old poser was stopped in his vehicle for "avoidable noise due to extreme acceleration". Because he was also uncooperative and attacked the police officers, he was temporarily detained. He was charged with violence and threatening officers.

Later on Saturday night, a 17-year-old motorcyclist had his ID confiscated because he was driving while unfit to drive. And again in Rebstein, a 34-year-old car driver was caught with a breath alcohol level that was too high. His driver's license was also confiscated.
