A 31-year-old driver fled from the police early on Friday morning and had an accident. He left the road at the Henggart highway exit and was uninjured.

The Iranian driver was noticed by a patrol on the A1 at around 3.40 a.m., as reported by the Zurich cantonal police on Friday. When they tried to stop the driver, he accelerated heavily.

The risky driving style caused the car to leave the road. The 31-year-old drove into a traffic sign, a stone and a tree before the car came to a standstill in the forest.

The man was arrested when he left the vehicle. He has to answer to the public prosecutor's office on suspicion of speeding.
