Traffic accident 43-year-old motorcyclist dies in accident on Zurich's Hardbrücke bridge

A 43-year-old motorcyclist died in a traffic accident on the Hardbrücke in the city of Zurich on Thursday morning. A truck and a car were involved in the accident.

Shortly after 6.45 a.m., a 42-year-old man was driving his truck in the left-hand lane of the Hardbrücke in the direction of Bucheggplatz, according to Zurich city police on Thursday.

At the Geroldrampe entrance, there was a collision between the truck and a car traveling in the same direction. The truck pushed the car several meters into the oncoming lane. The oncoming motorcyclist was unable to react in time and crashed head-on into the car.

The 43-year-old motorcyclist died on the scene despite resuscitation efforts by the emergency services. The truck driver and the 37-year-old car driver were uninjured. The exact circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the Zurich public prosecutor's office and the Zurich city police.
