Traffic accident 65-year-old moped rider seriously injured in Hergiswil NW

A 65-year-old local moped rider fell in Hergiswil NW after a grazing collision with a pedestrian on Friday evening and sustained serious head injuries. He had to be transported by ambulance to a hospital outside the canton.

The moped rider was on the combined cycle and footpath on the Lopper from Stansstad in the direction of Hergiswil at 10.25 p.m., the Nidwalden cantonal police reported on Saturday. There was a collision with a pedestrian walking in the same direction, which led to a fall.
