Politics Agriculture to receive the same amount of money as before until 2029
The federal government is not to make savings in agriculture between 2026 and 2029. This was expressed by the National Council during the discussion of a federal decree on financial resources for agriculture in the aforementioned years.

On Wednesday, it approved proposals by its Committee for Economic Affairs and Taxation (WAK-N) to support agriculture with a total of around CHF 14.2 billion over the years in question. The Federal Council wants to provide just over 13.8 billion.
The national government thus intends to provide 1.6% or CHF 230 million less than in the current period from 2022 to 2025. According to the Federal Council, agriculture must also make a contribution to reducing the burden on the regular budget and complying with the debt brake.
The federal decree with three payment frameworks for the years 2026 to 2029 now goes to the Council of States. When discussing the 2025 budget, the Councillors already decided that agriculture should not receive less money than before.
