Around a fifth of all establishments tested sold alcohol to minors at the St. Gallen festival over both days. They were warned and made aware of sales regulations, as the city police announced on Sunday. The organizer had announced the test purchases in advance.

During a further inspection, the guidelines were then adhered to, which is why no further measures had to be taken, the city police added.

Otherwise, this year's edition of the St. Gallen city festival with around 115,000 visitors went off without any major incidents, it added. On Friday and Saturday, several interventions had to be made, particularly after midnight, due to altercations. The figures were in line with previous years, it added.

During both days, the St. Gallen Rescue Service treated around 30 people with minor injuries or due to excessive alcohol consumption. The city festival, which lasted from Friday to Saturday, took place for the 20th time this year.
