Premium payers in the canton of Schaffhausen will see a below-average increase in premiums in 2025. It amounts to 3.8 percent and is the second lowest in Switzerland. Only in Basel-Stadt will premiums rise less sharply (+1.5 percent).
This is well below the Swiss average, which is 6 percent, as the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) announced on Thursday.
The average health insurance premium across all age groups in the canton of Schaffhausen is rising from CHF 349.70 to CHF 363.20. Schaffhausen residents will therefore have to pay an average of 13.40 francs more.
In the canton of Schaffhausen, premiums are rising the most for young adults up to the age of 25. By 4.7 percent. On average, they will now pay 297.20 francs, compared to the current 283.70 francs.
The increase for children is 3.8 percent. In 2025, the average monthly premium for them will cost CHF 108.70 (currently: CHF 104.70).
Adults aged 26 and over in the canton of Schaffhausen can expect an average increase of 3.5 percent in 2025. This means that the average health insurance premium will rise from CHF 413.50 to CHF 427.80.
