Fire Burning caravan in Ricken SG

A caravan caught fire early Monday morning in Ricken SG. No one was injured. The property damage amounted to around 60,000 francs.

A 47-year-old man was driving his car and an attached caravan towards Wattwil shortly before 6.15 a.m. when he saw smoke in the side mirror. He then parked his vehicle combination at a bus stop, according to the St. Gallen cantonal police.

The driver discovered flames inside the caravan. He managed to separate the caravan from the car. When the fire department arrived, the caravan was already fully engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire is unclear and is still under investigation.
