Grand Council BE Canton of Bern continues to support Swiss Jazz School
The Canton of Bern is supporting the Swiss Jazz School with an annual contribution of a maximum of half a million francs per year. The Grand Council approved the corresponding business on Tuesday with 141 votes in favor and two abstentions.

The state contribution is variable and depends, among other things, on the number of students entitled to subsidies. It applies from 2025 to 2028 and amounts to a maximum of CHF 500,000 per year. In the years 2019 to 2022, the contribution ranged between CHF 381,000 and CHF 448,000.
The Swiss Jazz School is a specialized music school for particularly talented students. It is the link between the basic jazz training provided by regional music schools and the jazz courses at the University of the Arts BUA and comparable courses at other music universities.
