The canton wants to secure the 1433 square meter property on Artherstrasse for representative, social and cultural purposes. The "Casa Rossa" is to be accessible to the people of Zug, for example for readings, lectures or weddings.

According to the report, the historic villa was built between 1919 and 1920 for the merchant and pharmacist Ernst Wyss and is a listed building. The property is located directly next to the old cantonal hospital.

The "Casa Rossa" is to be renovated in 2025/2026. A loan of 360,000 Swiss francs is available for this. The realization and occupation of the villa is planned for 2027/2028.
