As part of the repair work, 60 old ground anchors are to be replaced with 56 new ones, among other things, the canton announced in a press release on Wednesday. The service life of the anchors has been reached. This and other structural measures will be carried out from August 26.

According to the press release, the construction work will lead to "slightly adjusted traffic routing". Gribschweg, which runs between the cantonal road and the bored pile wall, will be closed during the construction work. A detour for non-motorized traffic will be signposted.

The canton has also announced that trees will have to be cleared for the work. Trees and a hedge will be planted again once the construction work is complete. The clearing work will start on August 20 and will require a full road closure. Traffic from the southern bypass to Lucerne and from Zugstrasse to the southern bypass will be diverted on this day.

According to the press release, the work should be completed by the end of April 2025.
