In Willisau LU on Saturday evening, a 68-year-old driver ended up in the bed of a stream after an accident. He had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries, as reported by the Lucerne public prosecutor's office on Monday.

According to the statement, the accident occurred on Saturday evening in the Rohrmatt district when the driver lost control of his vehicle on Rohrmattstrasse at the Nagelhüsli junction. He hit a power pole and ended up in the stream bed.

According to the press release, the driver was rescued and transported to hospital with serious injuries. According to the police, the damage to property amounted to around 6,000 Swiss francs.
