Traffic accident Car driver lands on railroad track in Thurgau after accident

Following an accident in Matzingen TG, a car driver landed on the railroad track on Saturday. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries, as reported by the cantonal police on Sunday.

The 61-year-old lost control of his vehicle at a traffic circle. It skidded off the road, collided with a crash barrier and came to a standstill on the Frauenfeld-Wil railroad track.

According to the police, the driver attributed the accident to a technical defect in his car. The vehicle was therefore impounded. Rail traffic was interrupted for around two hours.
