There was a collision between a passenger car and a police car in Brusio GR on Wednesday evening. One police officer was slightly injured.

A police patrol was driving south from Poschiavo shortly after 7 p.m. to provide assistance following an emergency report to the police from a private individual, according to the cantonal police.

During the journey, the patrol received information that a person who was allegedly in a state of mental emergency was driving towards them. The police officers then blocked the road with the patrol vehicle. The approaching 25-year-old man did not stop his vehicle and collided with the police car.

The two police officers, aged 51 and 31, were taken to hospital by Poschiavo Ambulance Service for a check-up, and both officers were able to leave the hospital during the night. One officer was slightly injured.

The 25-year-old driver will be reported to the public prosecutor's office in Graubünden. They are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
