Seltisberg BL Child (2) falls 8 meters from apartment - dead

A fatal accident has occurred in Seltisberg BL. A child (2) fell eight meters from an apartment and died.

Shortly after 8.45 p.m. on Tuesday, a child fell around eight meters from the window of a property in Seltisberg BL. The 2-year-old child suffered fatal injuries.

According to the information available to the Basel-Landschaft police so far, the 2-year-old girl was in the living room, climbed to a window and fell around 8 meters from it. The child sustained fatal injuries in the fall. The mother was probably in another room of the apartment at the time of the incident.

Why and how the fall occurred is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Basel-Landschaft police in collaboration with the Basel-Landschaft public prosecutor's office.
