Traffic accident Child is run over by a car in Sissach BL and seriously injured
A three-year-old boy was seriously injured after being run over by a car in Sissach BL on Thursday evening. After initial treatment at the scene, the child was flown to hospital by rescue helicopter, as reported by the Baselbieter police on Friday.

The accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. in front of a parking garage of a store on Hauptstrasse. A father wanted to go back to the car with his three-year-old son after taking care of the shopping cart. The boy ran past his father onto the road. In doing so, he overlooked a 30-year-old female driver who was about to drive her car out of the parking garage, according to the police.
A care team attended to the victims at the scene. The police, in collaboration with the public prosecutor's office, have begun an investigation into the exact course of events, as detailed in the press release.
