The Ticino Grand Council approved the parliamentary commission of inquiry (PUK) on Monday afternoon with 66 votes in favor. This is only the fourth time in the history of the Ticino Grand Council that a PUK has been set up.
The commission is to clarify whether and to what extent the former Lega member of parliament Sabrina Aldi misused her position as Vice President of the Justice Commission for private business interests.
Lega government councillor Norman Gobbi is also allegedly involved in the story. He is accused of having intervened politically in the so-called "Hospita" affair, which later took on criminal dimensions, thereby blurring institutional boundaries between the party, government and judiciary.
