There was talk of an excellent, interesting report and "great work". There were voices that blamed more than just CS management for the bank's downfall. Several Council members said that the financial market supervisory authority Finma had been too lenient.
However, it was also said that CS management was mainly responsible for the bank's downfall. This was also the conclusion reached by the PUK in its 500-page report. Formally, the small chamber had to take note of the report. The Council of States did so without voting on it.
President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter also spoke of the "valuable findings" of the PUK. Now it is time to learn the lessons. The crisis of a bank should not become a threat to a country.
