According to the Uri cantonal police, the motorcycle was traveling uphill. Its driver wanted to overtake a car and presumably entered the lane in which the bicycle was traveling downhill.

According to initial findings, the cyclist lost control of his two-wheeler as a result of the overtaking maneuver, the police said. He crashed head-on into the car.

According to the police, the 36-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in the accident and was therefore taken to the cantonal hospital. The motorcyclist made off.
