A detective inspector must answer to the Basel Criminal Court today on charges of sexual assault. The 62-year-old is alleged to have kissed a woman with his tongue against her will on June 25, 2021, reports "20 Minuten".
The police officer is said to have forcefully thrust his tongue down the plaintiff's throat in the rooms of the Basel public prosecutor's office late in the evening. The presumption of innocence applies.
Special prosecutor on duty
According to public prosecutor Rolf Jäger, the man is said to have "deliberately proceeded so purposefully and quickly without warning that he suddenly took away any chance of resistance and evasion from his victim, who was physically inferior to him, and forced this French kiss on her".
Due to the proximity of the accused to the Basel public prosecutor's office, he is being charged by the special public prosecutor of the Zurich public prosecutor's office. Jäger is demanding a conditional fine of CHF 18,000. The plaintiff is also demanding compensation of 5,000 francs.
