A wheelchair user was hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing in the city of Zurich on Monday evening. The person driving the car then continued on their journey without looking after the slightly injured 23-year-old. On Tuesday morning, the driver suspected of being involved in the accident contacted the police.

The 36-year-old man went to a Zurich cantonal police station on Tuesday morning, as reported by the Zurich city police on Tuesday. He was taken into custody and handed over to the city police for further investigation.

The accident occurred on Monday evening shortly before 9.45 p.m. on Forchstrasse near the "Balgrist" streetcar stop. The wheelchair user fell as a result of the collision and his wheelchair was damaged. The accident victim was taken to hospital by the ambulance service of Zurich Protection & Rescue.
