The EU Commission sees the agreement with Switzerland as a single package. This was stated by the EU chief negotiator at a committee meeting of the EU Parliament in Brussels. The Parliament dealt with the concluded negotiations for the first time on Thursday.

The rapporteur for Switzerland on the Committee on International Trade, Croatian MEP Zeljana Zovko from the European People's Party (EPP), emphasized the importance of an agreement with Switzerland in the current geopolitical situation. The discussion lasted a good 30 minutes, as the Keystone-SDA news agency noted on the spot.
The European Parliament is part of the ratification process and will have to approve the agreement with Switzerland. The committee is carrying out the preparatory work in this context and will make a recommendation at a future meeting of the plenary assembly. The committee is comparable to a commission in the Swiss Parliament.
