As in Beringen, the men also stole from a 93-year-old woman in St. Gallen. They told the woman that water had been detected on the roof of her house, as the St. Gallen cantonal police reported on Saturday. The woman let the men into the house for a check.

While she went down to the basement with one man, the second remained unobserved. After the visit, the woman noticed that jewelry worth several thousand francs had disappeared. The fake tradesmen are believed to have been between 25 and 30 years old.
