The sirens went off in Aeschi above Spiez shortly after 3 pm. It was a false alarm, Alertswiss announced shortly afterwards.

The sirens sounded three times every ten minutes. There was no danger to the population, according to the information from Alertswiss on Thursday afternoon.

The village of Aeschi is located on a ridge above Lake Thun and has a population of just over 2,300.
