Federal Council celebration Federal Councillor Martin Pfister celebrates in Baar
The celebrations for the new Federal Councillor Martin Pfister began with a festive reception in Baar on Thursday. A special train brought the magistrate and numerous guests to his home in Zug in the early afternoon.

The new Federal Councillor shook hands, waved to the crowd and was visibly moved by the large turnout. The population, including many schoolchildren, gave him spontaneous applause time and again. Many flags were waved and congratulatory posters could be seen.
Led by the Baar tambourines, the procession, including members of the National Council and Council of States, musicians from the Allenwinden field band and the Beresina Grenadiers, made its way from the station square, which had been laid out with a red carpet, to the festival grounds on the Marktgasse school square.
Among the guests are Federal Councillor Viola Amherd, Federal Chancellor Viktor Rossi and the Mayor of Zug, Andreas Hostettler.
After the reception, a party for invited guests will be held in the Waldmannhalle in the evening.
